Stop me if you’ve heard this one before… …London DJ and producer jozif, epitomises that oft misused term, ‘one to watch’. His distinctive and original productions are already making a lasting impression on industry-heroes such as Andrew Weatherall, Craig Richards and Howie B, and in scene that rarely stays the same for long, his natural passion and devotion to music has seen him producing DJing and producing for 13 years.
Sprouting from bonafide rock star roots, jozif has been immersed in music and inspiration his whole life. Access to a record collection beyond measure meant an endless supply of new sounds and sensations, while a healthy appetite for hedonism fired his imagination and fuelled his ambition.
Like many aspiring DJ’s, early gigs taught jozif the humble art of playing to the smallest clubs, but also the attitude that an atmosphere is only what you make it. The belief that a good DJ plays to the best of their ability wherever they find themselves helped shape this consistent and captivating musician, who now rocks some of the most popular dance floors. His intense blend of juddering tech house and rich minimal grooves, have earned jozif gigs at benchmark clubs such fabric, We Love….Space Ibiza, The Warehouse Project and The End (RIP).
His productions such as ‘Room 1′ and ‘Me Me Me’ are murky and hypnotic, and demonstrate a natural aptitude for innovative and captivating dance music. Eschewing the “in” sound, jozif’s output has always followed its own path – quirky, charismatic and thoroughly electronic, his are the stand-out tracks that permeate a twisted 6am dancefloor, or drive a Balearic afterhours party through the roof.
2010
In 2010, jozif has solo works set to be released on Matt Tolfrey’s Leftroom (Burning Up EP), the Ibiza based Vitalik (Coca Grande EP) and the much lauded New York imprint Wolf and Lamb (Chicago / Jus’ You / We R Child).
His track ‘Back 2 My Roots’ was recently featured on Agoria’s acclaimed Balance 016 mix CD, and is set for release on his Infine France label alongside ‘Sunrise’. ‘Tiger Tiger’ was released at the start of the year, receiving extensive DJ support from the likes of M.A.N.D.Y, Craig Richards and Matt Tolfrey to name a few.
jozif also has an extra special Limited Edition project with one of dance music’s luminaries set to be unleashed very soon…details to follow….
In challenging times for the music industry, two specialist music agencies team up to increase capabilities and reach. Reprise Music Group & Trailer Media PR will mix experience and youthful enterprise to deliver strategic campaigning across a variety of media platforms.
From traditional and online music PR, through music supervision, dj/live bookings, tour promotion, publishing and social media marketing; the new business will communicate to and service market sectors involved in or around the music industry.
This timely synergy embodies the future of the music business and the level of service a modern agency has to offer its clients. An agency model that can deliver all the needs of modern music profiling by working talent into all the right places, with the right focus and timings.
The agency will serve clients needs through a considered media mix and strategic planning involving an extended team. Whether it’s a cover feature or a string of live dates to support an album release; a timely move to shifting a fan page’s demographics or indeed increasing YouTube hits to gain a playlist spot.
With a satellite office in Sydney looking after Australasian affairs and specialising in music supervision and music for TV advertising, the London office will be the creative hub for operations throughout the UK, Europe and North America. Reprise will oversee affairs alongside their established business as booking agents, marketers and publishers, with plenty of scope to offer existing clients a more comprehensive service whilst creating new business opportunities.
As Trailer’s owner/director Anton comments, “Clients know you need a good spread of media to increase visibility at all stages of campaigning within an already saturated market. The UK is one market in the world where artists want to perform and labels want to secure press. The coming together of Reprise and Trailer is a by-product of this demand, where labels, artists, managers and even distributors, can benefit. Whatever you are offering musically it’s about fuelling and feeding the fire; with one thing helping drive the other. Existing and new clients will see the benefits of having this media mix organised and overseen by one agency”.
